Exactly — like a history of their own entrepreneurial endeavors (e.g. freelancing, blogging, launching social initiatives, taking on independent studies, etc).

Unlike large enterprises, startups and small businesses cannot afford to wait for newcomers to gain their bearings — or to train them in-house. Recent grads (and interns, for that matter) need to show up prepared to deliver value on Day 1.

This is a lesson I learned the hard (expensive) way!
