There is obvious suppression going on across social media channels, especially of historically marginalized voices and perspectives that support them. Medium’s lack of transparency on this matter has been troubling, to say the least.

We’re all stakeholders here — writers as well as readers and supporters. Personally, while I want to support my friends and colleagues by engaging with their content wherever it’s published, I do not want to contribute my data, my time, or my $5/month in support of unethical corporate tactics.

If you have any insights whatsoever into what is going in at Medium— good or bad, we’re counting on people like you to clue us in. Medium has made it clear that we the people are not their priority stakeholders, so we simply cannot rely on their official statements for the whole truth as it relates to our relationship with this platform.

Barring any known threat or danger to yourself (e.g. retaliation of some sort), please share what you know.

Thanks in advance.
